“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”

— Pablo Picasso

In today’s economy, art in our public schools has been minimized or lost due to funding restrictions. There is a way to instill imagination and artistic creativity when art is
unable to be taught in the classroom. We can capture the heart of our children before they grow up too fast to experience artistic expression for themselves.

During mural painting workshops in schools, students first learn
drawing, painting and the art of observing nature.

See workshop successes below:

Skills that are forever.

To this day, it remains one of my greatest joys to teach young people the joy of art, to witness the budding interest in art and to see their amazement at what they can accomplish within a few weeks. Their pride of accomplishment and art appreciation outlasts the mural painting activities - and extents far into adulthood.

Your school district may be able to help with funding for your art project. For schools in Lane County, please contact Lane Arts Council to bring me to your school. Other schools and staff contact me here.
